Book intro, part 2

Here goes everything!
Just a few years ago my town, Menelri, was fun. Fun is one of those things you don't miss until it's gone. It started on a fall Tuesday. I remember that day clearly. I was nine when the first person disappeared. The alarm sounded in the small school building that I shared with everyone else and panic erupted. We ran out to check for a fire, and found an official waiting for us. He called someone forward. I don't remember his name, but I remember the tears making their way down his face. His father had gone missing. The father was a goldsmith, an uneventful job; he would never have gone looking for trouble, or even adventure. It didn't matter, he was still gone without a trace.

Howl-O-Scream

O.K., it's official. 13: your numbers up is the scariest haunted house ever. Not that I would know, that kind of thing scares me out of my mind. We went to Buusch Gardens last night, abnd I swore i was going to go in 13. I made it 3 steps in the door. It was 13 differen't phobias. The first was funeral homes. eeek.

Park day!

On Fridays, my family either goes to Busch Gardens, or the park with our homeschooling friends. Today we're going to the park. I have a friend there named Avery, and a little friend named Emma, who is only 6, there. Yay! Usually I in-line skate with my friends, and my sister Grace. She is a spunky upbeat 8 year old who is always dancing and singing and jumping off the walls. She actually has a blog on my account called "Go Spazzy". You should check it out!
Here's the poem of the day:

VI.

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

See ya,
Rachel

First Post

Well this is my first post (obviously). I'm a 13 year old writer, singer, piano player, and poet. I like old books, new books, pretty much all types of books. Feedback is my best friend, whether it be critical or praising. Sometimes you'll see reviews, because I love to experiment and try new things.
Peace Books and Music,
Rachel
